Worship at San Rafael First is traditional and diverse, reflective and action-oriented, rooted in prayer and open to the Spirit. We celebrate Holy Communion every week to remind us of God’s unfailing love to each and every one. We welcome everyone, regardless of race, income level, sexual orientation, age or where they may be on their spiritual journey. Each worship service includes music, scripture, prayer, silence, and a sharing of the word; sometimes in the form of a sermon and sometimes as a time of reflection, or small-group reflections.

Our worship service begins at 10:30am each Sunday and children join us for the first 15 minutes, including a time for them to hear a message designed especially for them, before they have the option of leaving to go to Godly Play or child care. In Godly Play a story is told in a way that opens the imagination and then is followed by an activity. Youth can choose to stay in worship or leave with others.

After worship we gather downstairs for a light lunch and fellowship. This is a time to deepen community and meet new friends. People take turns to bring refreshments for a week and serve in this way.
